The Elmira Heights Village Board will hold a special meeting with the Elmira Heights Fire Department to continue discussions on the possibility of a future fire district on Tuesday, June 13th at 7:00 PM at the Village Hall, 215 Elmwood Ave.

There will be a monthly board meeting for the Village of Elmira Heights on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 7 pm at the village hall, located at 215 Elmwood Ave.

BASKETBALL HOOPS OBSTRUCTING VILLAGE STREETS

As the Spring months are finally upon us, we thought it prudent to provide the following reminder regarding the placement of basketball hoops in and around the Village Streets in the Village of Elmira Heights.

Please be advised that Article III of the Village of Elmira Heights Code of Ordinances (sections 194-9 and 194-10) prohibits playing in the Village streets or obstructing the Village streets in any way. This prohibition includes the placement of basketball hoops either in the roadway, or at the edge of the roadway for play within the road.

Please remove any and all obstructions, including basketball hoops, from the roadway on or before April 24, 2023. Thereafter, Code Enforcement will be required to enforce the above law, and issues citations for anyone in violation. Violations of this Article include fines up to $250 per day.

This law is necessary for the safety of our residents, the flow of traffic, and the unobstructed operation of emergency vehicles on the Village Streets.
